A sister organization, Puna Pono Association, was certified by the Internal Revenue Service on January 7, 2016, as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-deductible non-profit organization, effective as of November 3, 2015. Both organizations share the same postal address.
Sept 2014 (during the 2014 Pahoa lava threat):
Director of Hawaiian Affairs Mike Kaleikini said if Pele “decides to visit PGV” the geothermal company will “welcome her, show our reverence and respect, and definitely listen to her”.
June 2018 PGV stuck between lava river, fissures (Hawaii Tribune-Herald):
Mike Kaleikini said “we have to see what happens, and hopefully one day it stops and we can assess ...”
